This is not news, and I'm not sure what to make of it, except a certain irritation that opera singers singing about condemned prisoners on death row in America - Stonehenge is not quite the venue for it, or is it? Anyway she being a local girl has also been to Avebury as well..What a weird world
we live in, wake up to coalition governments and opera singing/sinning in Stonehenge....

Sounds really exciting, I must get to see the video when it is released (and find out more about the singer, I love opera). I can't see any harm at all in what she is doing.

Oh Gawd, I do. I'm submitting it to Pseuds Corner as we speak!

Thanks to our glorious new guv'nmint we'll have no nonsense like that at Stonehenge from now on. I can do no better than refer you to the Daily Mail Dictionary:
"Stonehenge: A site which is regularly invaded by pagan dole-scroungers who consume illegal substances and have sex orgies. Under Mrs Thatcher our illustrious police dealt with these deviants properly via the use of batons."

Hurrah!

Blimey, I reckon I'm entitled to say a promotional stunt inside Stonehenge comprising an opera singer singing about condemned prisoners on death row in America is worth sending to Pseuds Corner, without having to sit down and actually experience it. As entitled as anyone else is to say they are excited by it without hearing it anyway.

Woud personally prefer "dole scroungers" (charming) over opera about death row (any connection at all??! Not one that I can see) And I love the suggestion that people who cant get a job but like ancient sites are sex craved druggies. Obviously. What other reason could they have for being there?

if it advertises ancient sites and makes more people go there then i dont see a problem. the more people know about ancient sites the more they visit the smaller ones and the less likley they get knocked down.

its all good. going on about sacred sites, well how do we know? we dont do we? stone henge could have been weaved around in wicker and filled with dead cattle for all we know.

And something a little outside the circle - http://megalithicpoems.blogspot.com/2008/06/ode-to-stonehenge.html
