Hi

Does anyone know what the ancient name of Stonehenge is? I have tried searching and came across a few different answers: Cordemanon, Gwaith Emrys & Cathoir Ghall...

Thanks

You mean Stang Hengis
as in stone hangs ?

When it was built, it may have been called, "Gurg! Inga Darg Pab Corl!"

Or something.

My son drove 120 miles to see it for the first time this week, under the ludicrous assumption that arriving at four o'clock in the afternoon in full sunshine would mean it was still open. Serves him right for his ignorance. The carpark had just closed, and of course there was nowhere to park to even peer at it through the bureaucratically designed revolting fence. So he drove home.

I was quite pleased by his remark that it seemed to be being run by "Jobsworth twats" since he had reached his opinion entirely independently of me. I wonder exactly how many tourist pounds this cash-strapped quango actually loses each year by such lousy managerial decisions?
