Well, it felt like people were beginning to get the message at the planning meeting.

Maybe, just maybe Tarmac.

I'm not sure they accepted EH's idea of what is nationally important, but they did realise that they were about to lose.

As a consequence, Tarmac have asked for a deferment of the decision so they can determine the extent of the archaeology.

I think it is good that this evaluation plan will be drawn up in conjunction with EH but the timing (completed by November, so report can be submitted in December) is incredibly short, considering this is a site considered to be of national importance.

Personally I'd prefer an independant study, but presumably that's unheard of.

Well, coulda been a lot worse, but ffs, what does it take to get a decison????!!!!

I know it doesn't work this way, but hey've had years to realise this so the application should've just been rejected on the grounds that it was crap. Instead, just more room for tarmac to 'wriggle'....

Grrrrr!!!!

Well done so far tho!!!!

So what. Can you think of a practical reason for anyone to turn down a request for an archaeologist-observer to attend the investigations on behalf of interested groups George?
