The drum carvings

"As you follow the public right of way from the roadside eastwards, the landscape opens out in front of you as a huge natural crossroads between the hills. The barrow would have overlooked what could have been an important junction of 2 trading routes".

In the 3rd expanded view 2nd panel from left (under diagrams) i can't help seeing the carvings as a crossroads, the chevrons above and below the centre look rather like hills too.
I know this design is everywhere in pre-history but in this case are the panels saying something, the location of the barrow overlooking the
routes is obviously a statement.
Maybe i'm just rambling again.
Any thoughts. ?

Thoughts. ?
