Time to uncork the Champagne; "Northumberland Rock Art, Web Access to the Beckensall Archive" is on-line at the following link:

http://rockart.ncl.ac.uk/home.asp

Our congratulations go out to Stan and Aron, the webdesigners and all the hardworking people of the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. What a great achievement and a well-deserved tribute to Stan Beckensall.

Enjoy your virtual trip(s) amids Northumberlands prehistoric rock art.... and come back for a live view!

it's all so lovely ...

Nice to see the north-east of England leading the field when it comes to blowing-away the dusty archives and giving the public full access to this suberb resource.

beautiful presentation with great photos....well done to all involved.

Great site (from a kwik glance around)!

Krug* please...
Pop!

New Kilmartin book soon also?

Heck, make it vintage Krug!

* like I wish...

Looks like shite to me...

I'm glad those two guys are so far up their arses as to not bother visiting the Rock Art sites in the Knaresdale parish and subsequently not listing them. I question Stan's interpretations and assumptions entirely.

I rang him up once and he told me to read all seven (then) of his books and then to get back to him. Perhaps I have this reaction from people but what if I'd been a shy farmer ?
