Michael Cairns ( who holds various non-executive posts in the hotels, leisure and hospitality sectors), Gilly Drummond (owner of Capability Brown's smallest surviving pleasure ground and with an interest in historic parks and gardens), Piers Gough (founding partner of CZWG Architects), Michael Jolly (ex-Cadbury Schweppes, now running Madame Tussauds), Edward Douglas Coke (Seventh Earl of Leicester, with an interest in historic houses), Les Sparks (prominent public sector architect/planner, with an interest in Historic Towns), Sue Underwood (Chief Executive of North East Museums, Libraries and Archives Council, previously of the York Railway Museum and Scunthorpe Museum and Art Gallery) and Loyd Grossman (cook with funny accent) comprise eight of the thirteen current voting commissioners of English Heritage. There can be a maximum of 17 and minimum of 8 Commissioners at any time. Their role is to provide “strategic, policy and professional advice to the staff of English Heritage”.
