Hey we went to Avebury last week for the 1st time and it was wikid!! After a rather, er, damp few days spent camping in Devon, we donned our hoods (waterproof rather than druidic - it was pissing down) and gawked at Stonehenge before travelling up to Avebury & surrounding area. I was well impressed. I don't mean to be rude but it's a kinda shame that there's a ruddy great village in the middle of it - it would have been even more impressive to see it on it ownsome.

Was awesome nonetheless. I even bought some buttery fudge in ye olde National Trust shop.
(Eeek ! Someone stop me before I grow a barbour jacket and start knitting yoghurt.)

Am dead excited about Edinburgh gig - 12 days and counting !

Beaker!

glad you enjoyed your visit

lots of people agree with you about the village, to the extent of actually buying the place up and moving them all out (some to the modern housing estate out of the way, some to the less-so-nice caravan park up the road). We had a great row about this a few months ago ...

you should have gone up Windmill Hill ... that's where the Beaker Folk lived, apparently

over to you, PeteG ...
