Stone names

close

Hi Chance I notice you have named one of the stones at Avebury as the Nag's Head, because of its 'eared' appearance and it reminded me of two stones at Stanton Drew, which I have just put on, variously named as 'rabbit' and 'lion' stone because thats how they struck me at the time.
Such stones are interesting because they have distinctive appearance, and no I'm not going for simulcra here but just wondering if they did choose stones at both these circles either because they represented something 'other' or that they were chosen because they were unusual...
Moss..

p.s.the Rollright stones also follow in this tradition
