On Saturday 30th between 11 and 3 I'll be at the National Trust Shop in Avebury signing copies of my new book 'Sacred Places: Prehistory and popular imagination' (see www.hoap.co.uk for details). It was Avebury that first 'turned me on' to megalithic sites back in 1978, and the book has plenty to say about Avebury. I'd be very pleased to have a natter to any Modern Antiquarians who are at Avebury for Lughnasagh (yep, despite the 'bad press' in other postings on this site!!!!!).

Sounds good, Bob, and I find the following taster intriguing -

"Recurring throughout this book is the idea that we continually create and re-create our ideas about the past, about landscapes, and the places within those landscapes that we regard as sacred."*
