.. don't know how lucky they are, Cian: "this snivelling wreck of a monument is probably only worth visiting if you are dropped into the field after an alien abduction. I'm sure it was quite nice in a former life but alas, no more." Round these parts we'd be more than happy to adopt such a nice substantial monument. You lot in Ireland have far too much to choose from, that's your problem. Maybe that's why Merlin was allowed to take Stonehenge? "What, that load of old junk? Of course you can have it. Actually here's a fiver as well."

:-) 'tis true. I remember driving past a field with Holy McGrail once and saying "There's a stone circle in there, but we'll not bother stopping at it, because there's better stuff just down the road."

The response was something like, "We'd probably drive 100 miles in the UK just to see that circle and you're driving past it!"

Exactly my thoughts whilst admiring the photo. I think that a little of Ken's magic dust was applied. It brings to mind what they say about brilliant actors; they can read the telephone directory and make it sound like Shakespeare :-).

Rhiannon,
Too right. Some people are ruined. Absolutely bloody ruined. Sigh. Ireland is a beautiful country.
Ironically, it's because Ireland is so unruined. Long may it resist the push of the EEC and the "modern" world of over-development. That would be a crime.
Keep a check on it 4-W and C-Mc, and let's hope, Rhiannon, that we can say the same in a decades time.
Power to the Old Country.
Regards,
TE.
