Roseberry Topping

Odin's Glow

Put away your scepticism and go.
If you have any affinity with this hill you must do what you have to do to get there. Roseberry looks fantastic
Get yourself on the path below the common, as we did, you find yourself in a lost world of flying runes and madness.
brilliant!

And your posting of George Tweddle's poem Rosebury http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/1246 is worth a mention Mr f.

glad you enjoyed it fitz but we were sorely disapointed. very poorly organised. and the content was cobbled together mish mash of some vaguely odin related stuff and a load of stuff about cpt cook. couple of bits worked and the hill looked good. but we got the bus and each bus had a pair of fancy dress vikings on, who were meant to hand out programmes and had huge scripts they were meant to read, but the girl on ours just grinned inanely. the three of us that went all have backgrounds in the arts and interest in history, mythology and our local area. it just got us riled that it could of been so good and it just wasnt.

Sounds like Mr Fitz and Timmo saw the best of it. Struggling through the dark and mud brought its own reward. Credit to ya.
brings to mind the quote .....'This land still has the power to enchant'

...However (illuminati conspiracy mode on) it would be Interesting to know which runes they were projecting onto Odins Hill, -the rune master himself?
what with 2012 coming up - were they trying to unlease the Ragnorok?
...those crazy fools at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council :)

Karen Monid's wonderful sound installation, Contours, is now available online at http://vimeo.com/10578680
