400 people gathered at Newgrange this morning to attempt to see Winter Solstice sunrise. Tens of thousands more logged on to a special website broadcasting the event live on the internet. However, it was a lucky twenty people gathered at the standing stones at Baltray, near the mouth of the Boyne, who saw the sunrise while it failed to happen at Newgrange.
