Sorry all,

I've been checking out a passage tomb and I was wondering if I have an ordnance survey reference for the tomb and an ordance survey for the hill which can be seen from the passage, could anyone on here calculate if any significant sunrise / sunsets are linked to this passage?

Its just a rough estimate I need.

Hi Bawn , it would be rough but doable . As much info as poss would help . I'm assuming the hill is visble from within the passage if not a compass bearing from the passage would be nice .

Hi Bawn , I took a guess and checked the Kilmacow wedge wedge tomb to Knockfeerina .It's very imporatnt to have the altitude of both sites but I think I managed to get them from the archaeology ie website .I have assumed that the sighting is to the highest point on the hill which gives a declination of -23.71 very close to winter solstice sunset which is ideally -24 . I'll double check everything tomorrow but I think it's ok .

Welcome back Bawn :) A right block of stuff there! Did you get to Glantane after?

Good to see someone else has been to Moanmore West, too. It's one of Ireland's oddities. Lovely site in a bad location that I keep meaning to return to.

Hi Bawn
Good question!
I bookmarked this page to come back to a while ago, I have to say I haven't tried it yet myself...
