Sunday 20th Jan, Channel 4 - 5:50pm

'Tony Robinson and his crew of historians head to the windswept Isle of Barra, where tumultuous weather conditions are literally blowing away more than 4,000 years worth of ruined architecture. The team investigate a Bronze Age burial ground, and uncover an Iron Age settlement — with everyday detritus still intact'

Sounds interesting, I do like a bit of Time Team.

Without wanted to open a can of worms, which seems all to easy these days, did anyone see the special about the possible Viking boat burial and the metal detectors?

They claimed they were going straight but even so their past activities left a bad taste in my mouth....

(can someone tell me if I need to run for cover?)

Thanks for that Chris - very interesting, and the big wheel house pretty spectacular stuff.

This was great, wasn't it?

We're gutted we never got to visit Barra when we stayed on the Uists. Looks like an absolutely gorgeous island.

It's always nice when Time Team do a show about digging something up that's not from within living memory... ;o)

I was surprised they didn't mention the sea levels being lower thousands of years ago earlier on in the show - especially when it the question was asked as to why they would have built the houses and graves so close to the sea!

I do wish I'd seen that programme on Dartmoor though. Will have to keep an eye open for a further repeat of that one...
