Following up on some research into the apparent alignments of many standing stones I decided to excavate, in a Time-Team manner, a couple of mile markers situated along side two very quiet country roads. I had theorized for some time that many of the mile markers had been cut in-situ from standing stones. Both pits are two feet deep so far with no sight of the bottom yet. The width of the stones increases three fold about six inches below ground level and is uncut. Could I be onto something apart from trouble from the highways dept?

If you're really doing it in a Time Team manner, unless they come along in three days you'll be out of there anyway ;)

Truthfully, you'll probably get a bollocking off the local Police, and if there are any heritage groups interested, you'll have to move house...
