so, i noticed that several sites around Bolton have disappeared - i know a few of them were disputed but i was hoping to check them out - is this a temporary thing?

I believe you are referring to the pages created by Stonelifter (and his aliases). He requested that they be removed. It might be relevant to mention that a number of them had caused controversy in the forum over their disputed prehistoric origins.
