Geoffrey Grigson

Littlestone, that was interesting to read about Geoffrey Grigson in your Clyffe Pypard blog.

His 'Shell Country Book' and 'Looking and Finding' were both (in retrospect) very influential on my young mind! full of earthworks and sundials and folklore and so on. I didn't realise he lived in Wiltshire or that he knew Nash and Piper. So that's all very interesting, thankyou.

You're welcome :-)

Clyffe Pypard, and the people who have passed through it, has a very special place in my heart as well.

"Freedom of the Parish"...possibly the best book ever written about the countryside from a parochial view.

IMO
