Exmoor must sees?

close

Bit late as I'm leaving in 6 hours or so, but does anyone recommend any sites on Exmoor?

The OS map shows a few stone rows & several 'stone settings'.

I think there is a small stone circle called Porlock, near to the village of the same name. Ive never been there, but i reckon it is groovy!! Enjoy your trip

All of the many stone rows and settings on Exmoor consist of very small stones which are difficult to find in the vegetation. The best is Almsworthy. The only other stone circle (apart from Porlock) is Withypool Hill - again, small stones but worth visiting. The only large megalith is the Longstone.

Cheers peeps.

Certainly helps me choose what I need to see :)

Nice Blog Juamei,

The Hob family had contemplated an Exmoor trip, but got put off by the possible access issues, as in the absence of any reliable stuff on the web, we had no idea what to expect. From the looks of those fieldnotes, it could be quite do-able. Cheers mon, 'tis a public service you do, specially those access bits :)

Did you visit any of the burial stuff? Any visitable barrows?
