'Amazing stone circle plans for village hill site'
Jan 9 2006
By Duncan Gibbons

PLANS have been unveiled to build the first celestial stone circle in England for thousands of years - in a village near Rugby.

Four giant monoliths, each three metres high, would be positioned in the points of a compass on an ancient hill in Crick.

The stones will be precarved with symbols, designs and names of local people, and will have tiny reflectors to bounce off sunlight from dawn till dusk.

Lasers will also be beamed on to the reflectors during special events to create a dazzling spectacular light show.

Rugby artist Pete Thornley, who came up with the idea more than a year ago, said: "There has not been a standing stone circle built in England for many hundreds, if not thousands of years, so to be part of something like this is amazing.

Thornley's a good surname for it though ...

What a prat!

There must be a simpler way of getting a sheep pen.
