Hi Eds -

As you said on another thread, "please let the Eds know if you think a site is in need of 'DA' status." Here's a few:

http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/6045
http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/7665 (a definite no-no!)
http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/7673
http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/7667 (a definite no-no!)

The TroubleCauser!

What's DA?

Just makes me think of 'District Attorney', though this may say more about the kind of TV shows I used to watch when I was younger....

Thanks for all your contributions to the 'Disputed Antiquity' collection scheme.

:)

We're trying to review as much as possible in the context of the new DA flag. It's unlikely that we'll get round the entire site, simply because it's so large, so this kind of discussion is useful (so long as it's vaguely constructive).

Why does everything round here have to turn into a slanging match at the moment? Surely this doesn't have to get so personal.

Surely this is a good opportunity to discuss / argue for the breadth (or otherwise) of this website. It's content is essentially up to us, the contributors - there's no site if we don't add what we're interested in. The editors appear to be generally quite relaxed about us dictating that - if theyre cracking down now on the fringes of its coverage, shouldn't we argue our corners of interest, rather than being so negative and slagging off individual sites (or contributors)?

Or perhaps we should all just infight so much that everyone pisses off in disgust and nothing ever gets added again. Pfah. I don't get it.

I have been following with interest , this thread.
The Modern Antiquarium , I like it .
I only arrived here a couple of months ago , feeling very much out of My depth, not only because I have never been on a forum before , have a lack of computer knowledge , and am a almost novice regards old sites etc.
So if You would allow Me to report My experience, with respect.
I have felt welcome.
Have been informed , by people I admire.
Confused by some of the arguments on here.
Impressed by Mike , especially the way He thought out reason for sites , His ideas of His own destiny etc, shouldnt have been on here.
Have felt humiliated , and ridiculed , for apparently daring to say I know something.
Can state first hand , how demeaning it feels, to be on the wrong end of some on heres gifted ability with words.
Felt very much like not coming to this site again, which was obvious what some desired.
But through all of above, I feel that You are all Ok , a bit odd, and perhaps some guide lines, would be helpfull, as regards , just what a Modern antiquarian is.
Is there a desire to explain sites ?
Will the word dowser, just annoy some of You ?
Will You just ignore this ?
