The following was posted by Mike Heyworth on Britarch this morning. For those who may not have seen it and may be interested in contributing -
>From Mike Pitts, Editor of CBA's 'British Archaeology' magazine:
Dear Friends
We've never done it before, but it seems a good idea: in the next
issue of 'British Archaeology' there will be a 2-page spread looking
back over the past year in archaeology. What was found - and lost?
Who said what? What changed in law, at universities, in field
archaeology? What went on show? What was published - or not? Who got
the job they'd been after - or lost it? Or retired, or died?
There are only 2 pages, and much of that will be pictures, so words
are limited. But please feel free to offer what's important to you or
your field. Not all of it will be po-faced. Any contributors will be
noted in the feature.
The deadline for offerings is November 5
Remember, we are always interested to hear from you: we break some
of the biggest stories in archaeology, but you don't have to have dug
up the find that changed the world to appear in the magazine. Do you
feel strongly about something? Write us a letter, or an Opinion page
about it. Is there an old book you think people should know about?
Write a 150-word Reader's Review - and win a free book. You can also
win copies of the Editor's Choice book: look out for the next issue
of 'British Archaeology', out December 9
Many thanks for your help
all best
mike
