Bit off topic but related to rock stuff and besides I dont know where else to get tips! I'm looking for web sites for weather predictions. I am trying to figure out if the weather will be better tomorrow morning or the morning after for the equinox sunrise at Loughcrew but the Irish met website is ingeniously vague and simplistic.

I'm sure we've one or two outdoor types here who have a favourite weather site?

Mullingar is the nearest weather centre: http://www.wunderground.com /global/stations/03971.html

I have a link to the nearest weather station on the bottom left of each site page.

This is the one I go off, as I find it the most accurate, but it is biased towards what to expect on the mountains. I use it mostly for the Cumbrian mountains. It gives a fairly detailed forecast for the next three days.

It's usually, with a few exceptions, updated every day by late afternoon/early evening.

I picked up a weather information card in the Wooler tourist information office.

weather2go, it shows a map of various parts of the country, mainly areas of hills and mountains, you then text a number followed by the code for the area you are interested in. They text back the 24 hour forecast for that area. Never tried it yet, text replies cost 50p.

try this link, but best picking up a card.
