Garway Hill

Ancient Village / Settlement / Misc. Earthwork

Garway Hill (Ancient Village / Settlement / Misc. Earthwork) by thesweetcheat Garway Hill, the prominent hill on the skyline (at least I hope it is!). The viewpoint is the Cat's Back ridge on Black Hill to the west.

I like this picture a lot. Half of it is sky, there isn't a monument, stone, cairn, ditch or bank to be seen. The light isn't strong and the hedges, trees and fields reek of late November. Magic!
I feel a Sandy Denny hour coming on.

Thank you HD! A watery sun provided the light, while behind me (into Wales) a rain front was building on the tops. I like Herefordshire, it's where I grew up and still quiet and unspoiled. thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat
