Unless you're saying that those of us who have defended him have done so because we're fans? Because no-one who is suggesting that he has done some good is coming out as a massive U2 fan. I can only speak personally and say I like some of their records but wouldn't class myself as a fan*. I was just reacting to what I see as gross unfairness to the guy. *I prefer Madonna TBH!
