Maen Beuno is named after St. Beuno, who lived nearby in the 6th c.AD and is said to have preached from this spot.

The King's Standing (Round Barrow(s))

During the English Civil War, on the 19th of October, 1642AD, King Charles I stood on this round barrow to address his local recruits, hence The King`s Standing.

The Cow Stone (Standing Stone / Menhir)

There is a legend concerning a cow associated with the nearby Mitchells Fold stone circle, Rhiannon`s account of which can be read here:Mitchells Fold
