Paviland Cave

Cave / Rock Shelter

Paviland Cave (Cave / Rock Shelter) by Rhiannon From the Rev's 'Reliquiae Diluvianae' (1823). You can see the skeleton next to its mammothy companion. Curiously the drawing shows a skull, yet it wasn't in the Oxford museum??

I was inspired to find this after watching the superb 'History of Ancient Britain' on the BBC with the intrepid Neil Oliver, who abseiled down to the cave.

The whole programme inspired, Neil Oliver did well indeed - especially the abseiling bit. tjj Posted by tjj
