The Long Man of Wilmington

Hill Figure

Folklore

This proverb is apparently found in Fuller's Worthies of England (1662):

"When Firle Hill and Long Man has a cap
We at A'ston gets a drap."

(I found it mentioned in Notes and Queries for May 3rd 1884)
