Super pics.
It's great to see others taking an interest in the hunebedden.
They really are splendid monuments.

Really enjoy trips out to the Hunbedden, not just the monuments, the people, the villages, walking in the countryside, love it all. Posted by costaexpress

Absolutely.
One of the best walks I did a few years back, started at the Papeloze Kerk then walked all the way south through the Sleenerzand to Noord Sleen to take in the two hunebedden there. On the way are interesting old celtic fields to be seen as well as the ancient 'hangmans mound' of Galgenberg.

On a historical note, just before reaching Noord Sleen, there is a monument in the wodland to commemorate the British Halifax bomber that crashed there after being shot down on 14th May 1943.

And just a short distance away is an engraved commemorative slab to mark the spot where a Flying Fortress pilot landed by parachute after successfully directing his blazing aeroplane away from the village of Noord Sleen on January 11, 1944.
