St Breock Beacon Kistvaen (Dolmen / Quoit / Cromlech) by RoyReed Less than 100m south of the Men Gurta standing stone lies the St Breock Beacon Kistvaen, a neolithic dolmen tomb (Kist-Vaen means 'earth-fast'.) Unfortunately the dolmen is surrounded by a sea of waist high gorse and brambles.

Nice to see this one, and area I really want to get to. Kist-vaen means stone box though ('maen' mutated to 'vaen' = stone; 'kist' or 'cist' = box) from the Brythonic/Welsh/Cornish. thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat
