Is this a find by you Drew? Only 3km from the Granite City too. I'm loving my fieldwalking at the mo, so much stuff's still undocumented but there in front of noses for those who care and try to look. spencer Posted by spencer

I certainly knew nothing about it and sent the info to Canmore after having a walk on Tullos Hill (there another 6 cairns I know of on the hill). It was then confirmed by my friend of CDA Archaeology who found it during the digs of several years ago, the papers concerning these digs have not been released to the public yet. He's up in the area just now, hopefully a few pics of sites to come. drewbhoy Posted by drewbhoy

I was on the hill last week and saw the burnt gorse - but never thought about investigating the ground within. Amazing what turns up! LesHamilton Posted by LesHamilton

Re the burning...totally against grouse shooting and shooters, but boy does it turn up stuff. I sometimes wish that there'd be some more my way, so much lurking under the mature growth, you don't find it until you trip up over it. Found a remnant of a circle in the deep stuff on a heather moor two years ago, took pic, no GPS...could I find it again? Er...no spencer Posted by spencer

That might well have been controlled for the cairn area, certainly no shooting and probably not many grouse. drewbhoy Posted by drewbhoy
