Round Loaf (Artificial Mound) by LivingRocks The Northern Lights make a very rare Lancashire appearance over Round Loaf (visible as a small bump in the centre of the horizon) on the 17th March.

Amazing! Where were you stood and what time? We went for a drive around anglezarke looking for a good spot about 7pm (and broke the car trying to get near to rivington pike) but it was way too hazy. juamei Posted by juamei

Hi Jamie, its taken on the road from Rivington to Belmont. Near to Dean Brook there is an uphill section followed by a sharp left hand bend, as you round the bend there is a layby on the left, the shot is from there. I went up after getting the Aurora Watch red alert at 9.00pm and the photo was taken at about 11.00pm by which time the earlier mist had mostly gone & there was quite a crowd gathered along the road.
