Well I never. I'm guessing most instagram photos are taken by hipsters trying to look cool in the city. Retro countryside can't quite work in the same way, but it still gives the picture something soft and nostalgic? I also like the way they're square (I'd not really registered that before) so maybe get an edge of nostalgia from being like the polaroids of our youth. But although polaroids were the ultimate 'snap', now a square frame suggests a decidedly unsnappy picture, don't you think, it seems actually more considered and proper art like.
