"Lapse of Memory" - timelapse film on Vimeo

"Lapse of Memory" is a short film I've recently completed which aims to give a new visual perspective on some of the prehistoric sites of Northern Britain. The film combines the photographic techniques of high dynamic range imaging and time-lapse in a panoramic format, and is made up of over 70,000 individual photographs.

Shot over the summer of 2008 as part of an MSc in Creative Technology, the film covers a number of sites in North Yorkshire, Cumbria & Scotland.

Please contact me at [email protected] for any comments about the piece.

Lovely film, it made you really look at the skyscape, and the movement of the moon. It gives a real sense of sky, moon, stone relationships.. funnily the camera does what humans would find tiring to do and that is contemplate the sky for a long time..... moss Posted by moss

That was just enthralling. I wonder how you'd compare your experience of being at one spot at those sites for hours (I'm assuming you didn't go off and leave your camera for a cup of tea) with the time-lapse versions?

And the music's just right too! with a carnyx? and that shakey bell sound. Like prehistoric bladerunner..!
