Desecration of Ancient Burial Site.. Anglesey

First Tara.. and now the welsh assembley has followed suit by sneaking through the distruction of one of the most sacred sites on anglesey.
2km from Holyhead is Ty Mawr and Trefignath and surrounding tombs and circles.
Excavators are currently ploughing up the area so as to build a buisness park on the site.
Three archioligists are struggling to record the newly unearthed cyst tombs being discovered on a site orientated to the western sunset.
Please write to the welsh assembley and try to get this work halted.

Reports do say that development is going on at the site of the Ty Mawr standing stones - very close to Trefignath! This is just outside Holyhead, at Junction 2 of the A55.

There's a picture of the current state of things on the Megalithic Portal - it's awful. Going to end up being another Brehons Chair by the looks of it.

Hrmph.

Disgusting!

whatever or where ever, this is just another symptom of the complete disregard and disinterest shown by government, either central or local to anything connected to our heritage and ancestral past. Afterall, the great god mammon must be satisfied before all else. Really, things like this really depress me, as it just mirrors a tyranny and intolerance found at all levels of society today. Im off to kick some "ass!" tbeebear Posted by tbeebear

I've spoke to Cadw, and they are monitoring the situation, their hands are tied on it. But they say everyone is acting within the law etc, shame, if this is what the law allows. skins Posted by skins
