Having moved to Llandudno in 1999 I paid a visit to Pentr Ivan on the glorious afternoon of November 3rd. The weather for so late in the year was stunning as were the views and the drive home to Llandudno was a real joy. I was really surprised at home Cadw have pulled out the stops in maintaining this magnificent ruin.I can name a few other monuments here in North wales (Bryn Celli Ddu) to name one that are not quite as immaculate.They maintain it but the small gate into the chamber was vandalised some years ago and has not been replaced. Pentre Ivan being one of Wales most famous monuments is reflected in its upkeep, those gates along the walkway must have cost a pretty sum but dare i say it THE NORTH SOUTH DIVIDE has raised its ugly head once again. I wonder if you have noticed a similar state of affairs on your extensive travells. I lived in Bargoed for thirty years before moving here to Llandudno and my mother knew your relativesl in Deri very well.
