Taken in 2004. Is it too fanciful to suggest a resemblance to the low peak on the horizon? Posted by tomatoman

Not fanciful at all, the resemblance is quite evident. postman Posted by postman

I spotted it straight away before approaching the site. But, with the evident deterioration of the structure, I wondered whether the external profile had changed over time producing an apparent mimic. Posted by tomatoman

Absolutely possible I'd guess, but also unknowable, like so much in this quest of ours. postman Posted by postman

Just wondering if there's another site this side of the cairn in line with it and the hill....yup the similarity is striking spencer Posted by spencer

The nearest is of course the stone circle round the hill but the sightlines are unlikely.
When in North Uist, I always visit Beinn a' Charra stone which is on a low hill beside the Committee Road. The view from there on a clear day is stunning.
