Summer solstice: How the Stonehenge battles faded

An interesting read for those who weren't there and a previous 'lively' topic for discussion on TMA.

Great find. Fascinating for those of us who are 'alternatives' I think it is one of the classics as far as 20th century history is concerned. Fear by the authorities of chaos and anarchy led to a brutal put down. Stonehenge certainly has history and when the 20th century is analysed in cooler tones, will such events make a marked difference to this new century, but which way??? moss Posted by moss

Also another (long) piece here from Will Self:

I know he's a bit like Marmite but I like him (and he only quotes Baudrillard once this time, I think he felt he had to do it, perhaps it's irony) - I think you may like him too after this as he talks about lying and dreaming in tombs in Orkney.

I was there at The Battle of the bean field. Margret thatcher's boot boys dragged pregnant women through the windows of buses they had broken with their truncheons many of the women had miscarriages and lost their babies, it was all covered up at a Colchester court hearing. I thought at the time the police were on some kind of drugs they seemed to be not human and really pumped up, I guess they though or were told , they were fighting some terrible evil anarchists that need stamping out before they start a revolution.
