Bold text: Bold text
Italic text: Italic text
Indented quotation:

Pass the Glenballoch stone circle and continue north, then northwest. The stone circle is in the Forestry Commission...

Horizontal Rule:

Link to another website/page: Link text
Website addresses given on their own, e.g. http://www.website.com will be automatically linked.

Site interlinking

In addition to the above, it is possible to link to other sites on The Modern Antiquarian by enclosing the site name in double square brackets, as follows:
Pass the [[Glenballoch]] stone circle and continue north...
The site will attempt to match the text given in double square brackets with site names in the database. If multiple matches are found, you will be asked to specify which site you wish to link to. Site names with no matches will be ignored.

When editing posts containing these links, note that the format of them changes slightly to include a number, e.g.
Pass the [[Glenballoch||656]] stone circle and continue north...
Resist the temptation to edit this number — it is a unique site identifier. If you wish to unlink the text, remove the square brackets, vertical bars and number completely, i.e.
Pass the Glenballoch stone circle and continue north...
