Hi.. you have an intresting site and i like reading it, but i feel i must point a big error you have made in the local folklore surrounding Penshaw Monument. I've lived in Penshaw all my life and i can assure you the the ledgend of the Lambton Worm has nothing to do with Penshaw Hill which the monument is on. The Lambton Worm is actually associated with a hill called Worm Hill which is in the neighbouring villigae called Fatfield.
