There was an announcement back in March but then I heard no more about it and given the programme's contentious nature among some on here, I felt it best not to mention it. Then last night I got an email from a pal about it. My heart soared like a hawk! This confirmation is the find some of us have been waiting for! Can things get any better this year?

Bring it on. I'm gonna put a record on my record player and turn the volume up.

Ooo-errr, maybe I'll leave that vinyl unplayed and in mint condition...

To those who's hobby is detecting, the opening scene to series 1 absolutely nails it. I've spent days on end out digging up ring pulls, fencing staples, broken plough bits, tin foil, nails, rusty bars and all the metal waste buried over the years. Not found anything of historic value yet just the odd modern coin but absolutely love the hobby.
