My aquaintance with the Nine Ladies goes back as far as the '60s, and visits with my dad. Back then it was a very peaceful place, near as dammit pristine. Subsequent visits have always seen a deterioration, more breakage of branches, fires, wear and tear on paths... last time after the end of the anti-quarry camp was a bit offputting, but nothing like this. That this should happen to a place for which I have some very dear memories going back a long way makes me fucking livid.
