If you've looked at the site are you not put off by the fact that it could take you all day to travel to a site, take measurements with a tape measure (as they ask you to), and various other observations, type it all into the form, and not even know whether someone else had already been there and done it before you?

If your remark about sitting at home and getting things off the internet is a gibe at me then it makes me laugh as you have contributed precisely three photos and one site to TMA. Perhaps you've got an enormous website somewhere with masses of thoroughly original research, maybe you have. I say good luck to you and all your contributions to the Oxford website, I'm sure they'll be very happy to have your help, and at least you won't have to trawl this forum telling everyone how crap it is. It's as crap or as good as you make it. I just see you whinging today and I don't see much past evidence of you trying to contribute to the website either.

I can tell you haven't quite got the jist.
If somebody writes a book about Avebury, it doesn't mean nobody else bothers.
If 15 people measure Cholesbury fort, it is better than if 1 person does.
The literature also states, as is sensible, the research would be best carried out in groups. It's just good practice for this kind of thing isn't it?
Would you like 3 archaeologists in the trench or 1? Theres no harm in several measurements/visits.

Regarding your last point, I've visited just under 350 prehistoric monuments (I made a list not long ago, bit sad). Are you telling me that because I choose not to post photos of them or write personal exoerience/anecdotal fieldnotes (some of which I enjoy on here a lot) and tend only to talk on the forum, that I in some way deserve to have less of a voice? I have not said this site is crap. That is complete fabrication. You are known as a bit of a live one, obviously, but I'm surprised to see making things up in order to attack me.
