Objection M'lud, that is not proof that he was the actual brickmaker. He may have been a cat burglar on a hot tin roof stealing a hot brick and when he fell through said roof dropped the brick leaving his print in it. I rest my case :-)

The barrow sounds interesting, any more clues as to its whereabouts?

Re the other thing, yes I do know where it is, but sorry it isn't my story to tell. They that found it and have done the graft and rely on funding must be able to have their day in the Sun (or the Waggon & Horses).
