Interesting that it is in June so close to midsummer. I would like to do the walk but not with loads of other people.

I would think that patterns like a "turas" date back to far earlier than Catholic practices (as even mentioned in voicesfromthedawn) and probably back to the cross over of pagan / early celtic christian church in Ireland.
