Though like nothing on the scale of Heritage Action's wonderful World Megameets in Avebury (this year to be held on Saturday, 21 August - see http://themodernantiquarian.com/forum/?thread=57344 ) there'll be a bit of a mini Megameet on Sunday, 29 August at the Viper Pub, Mill Green, Essex (more here - http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/37/3750/Viper/Mill_Green ).

The Viper is one of Essex's many little gems pub-wise. It's set all alone in woodland but serves real ale, excellent food and a little beer festival over the August Bank holiday (Jake the Snake is the pub's resident tipple but there are other goodies on tap during the festival). Ingatestone is only about fifteen minute's drive from The Viper so something to see stone-wise on the way there or on the way back.
