Couple of things about Newton Wood that struck me were , the pottery ,usually hut circles (rarely excavated ) are as a clean as curusus and entrances at the west seems an odd direction , less light coming in but good for sunsets and often into the prevailing wind .Maybe there was something providing shelter to the west .It would be good to get a date for the site .
Luckily I'm not on that road ,about a mile further south , bit of a slope and the field below gets the worst of it .
