From Lancs you might find a trip over the Pennines to Ilkley a bit more accessible - and indeed you can almost "trip over" rock art thereabouts.

Galloway and Northumbrian rock art will be about the same travelling time from you, perhaps. Both areas are worth making the trip, but I would say that the hit-rate might be better in north Northumberland.

Oh and forgot to say that Tullie House in Carlisle has come captive examples of RA.
