| Back in the early 1930s Ballinderry Crannog (Co Westmeath) was excavated. Recently the evidence was reassessed : http://www.ria.ie/cgi-bin/ria/papers/100218.pdf It's 10th Century, so a bit out of timeline for TMA per se, but it's very interesting reading.
