Much though I am an avid digital mucker-abouter, I'll agree with that, but am obliged to point out that it's not just about web vs printing, if we want to get ultrapedantic.

A medium format transparency will kick the ass of even the best digital image when it's time to get projecting images. Even comparing a hi res LCD projector with a 35mm slide projector, there's no contest.

Imagine really big transparencies, a small boat, and a projector with some ooompf: Giant cup and ring marks on the cliffs of Dover at sunset. That would look nice. No real validity ato it at all, it would be a totally out of context thing to do (but it would look nice).
