| i have just come across a reference in a book published in the early 50s of a monolith in the grounds of Wardour castle. I am not even sure where said castle is, anybody help? If anyone knows the place do they know if the stone is still there? Aparently it is not just a fake upright but actually once belonged to a burial chamber in a nearby farm. bones found at the site were reburied but the three stones were brought to the castle to become garden features. The book also talks about the burial chamber at Park Place near Henley that Rhiannon has already posted up and also of the mock stonehenge at Alton Towers built by the Earl of Shrewsbury.
